Steve Chen is a physician executive with over 20 years in academic clinical research, clinical practice, and pharmaceutical clinical development (phase 1-4) including the commercial launch of multiple assets. With specialty training in obesity medicine, Steve led the clinical research unit at the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition specializing in obesity research. His industry experience spans small to medium-sized biotech companies to large pharma, such as Takeda and Eli Lilly. He was integral to the acceptance of multiple INDs and NDA/BLA submissions that led to approved therapies. He worked on the commercial launch of the first weekly GLP-1 receptor agonist and was the lead physician for the launch of an obesity drug and the first vasopressor to treat septic shock. Steve obtained his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a B.Sc. and B.A. in Bioengineering and Chinese Studies, respectively, from UC San Diego.
